EXAM EXCELLENCE CAMP FOR RESIDENTS
A
highly-charged and interactive one-day camp
was organised for UPSR, PMR and SPM students
living in Bandar Enstek and the surrounding
areas. Themed "Making a Difference", the "Kem
Peperiksaan Cemerlang" was designed to motivate
the students and guide them to achieve excellence
in their upcoming exams.
A break from ordinary teaching and learning
methods, the camp organised activity-based exercises
for the students to participate in, including
innovative games, simulation exercises, physical
activity, written exercises, video presentations
and lectures. The first half of the day was
dedicated to the PMR and SPM students, while
the next half of the day's activities was catered
for the younger ones.
The event kicked off with some fun ice-breakers
and team-building exercises, inculcating time
management skills and breaking the ice between
the participants and facilitators of the camp.
Several tips on effective studying and techniques
to answering questions were also imparted by
the facilitators, which were then followed by
written exercises.
This interactive and well-rounded approach
to learning gave students an opportunity to
express their ideas and participate in the activities.
It was evident that by the end of the session,
the participants had a blast, and were excited
and could not wait to begin their journey towards
their upcoming examinations.
The motivation camp is an extension of TH Properties'
Newspaper in Education (NIE) sponsorship with
the New Straits Times. Since 2007, five primary
schools and five secondary schools have benefited
from the programme which is an alternative teaching
material of learning English in the classrooms.
